SEVERN SEA SALVAGE ACTIVITIES - BIDEFORD

SEVERN SEA SALVAGE ACTIVITIES - BIDEFORD

Once again the Severn Sea, whilst on a visit to her home port of Bideford, has demonstrated her adaptability as a multi-disciplined vessel when she came to the aid of Torridge district council in the role of wreck removal.

Severn Sea’s  team worked closely with the volunteers from the "Fresh Spring Society" in stabilising integrity of the sunken wreck "September", a 60' wooden yacht, putting their salvage pumps into action the vessel was successfully floated and towed to away for disposal.

The following day, after a fast turnaround by her crew, the Severn sea was again back in action, to complete the final part of the tow for the "Fresh Spring" from her temporary berth at Appledore ship yard, to Bank End, Bideford and was greeted at her new berth by a large group of well-wishers as the vessel was gracefully manoeuvred into her berth.  Chairman of the Fresh Spring Society John Puddy expressed his gratitude to Keynvor Morlift and staff for the assistance in making this moment possible.
