ISLES OF SCILLY WASTE MANAGEMENT

KML have been instrumental in facilitating the transportation of scrap metal and glass from the Isles of Scilly to the mainland via the landing craft "Severn Sins" and KML's novel Ro-Ro Hookloader system.  KML has also provided shoreside crushing and screening, disposal and recycling services for construction and demolition waste on site.  Good progress has been made in reducing the size of the waste mountain, the so-called "Moorwell Alp", and producing a future waste strategy for Scilly. 

Around 500 tons of scrap metal and inert material has been sent to the mainland and the Council’s consultants, SLR, are investigating more exporting and reprocessing options.

KML continues to work closely with the Client, the Environmental Agency and consultants SLR.
